The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team was defeated 3-0 by nationally ranked Jefferson at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of HVCC on Wednesday afternoon.

The Vikings competed well, holding the Cannoneers to just one goal in the first half of the game. The shots were mirrored, with Jefferson holding a one-shot advantage in the first 45-minutes of the game. The Vikings were not without any great scoring opportunities as they accumulated nine shots on goal.

Jefferson managed to score two more goals in the second half to pull away from the Vikings to secure the 3-0 win. Jennah Netto led the way as she scored two of the three goals for the Cannoneers.

The women's soccer team returns to action this Saturday, Sept. 9 for another important Region 3 match against Genesee. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of HVCC.
