Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer (8-2-1) used three first half goals to defeat North Country 3-1 on the road on Sunday afternoon.
The Vikings were led by Sydnee Metzold (Rotterdam/Schalmont) and Brooke Clough (Latham/Shaker) as they combined for record eight total points with three goals and two assists in today's win. Metzold, the Vikings leading scorer, scored a pair of goals for her 19thand 20thgoal of the season with Clough assisting on both goals.
Clough later scored with 7:48 remaining in the first half to give the Vikings their third goal of the game. Elise Ainsworth (East Greenbush/Columbia) assisted on Clough's goal.
Women's soccer returns home on Saturday, October 13 for a key Region 3 match-up with Onondaga. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m.
