Men’s and Women’s Bowling Ends Season at Sectionals

The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's bowling teams participated in the 2018 Intercollegiate Team Championships Sectional Qualifier on March 10-11 in Stratford, N.J.

The men's program started slow as they were in last place after the first 16 games of the tournament. Hudson Valley jumped seven spots in the final day to finish the two-day tournament in 15th place with 11,287 pins, 42 pins ahead of local rival Schenectady County Community College.

The women's team finished 17th overall with a total score of 10,244. In the 64 games, the women finished five games with over 200 pins, including a team high score of 220 in Game 21.

The conclusion of Sectionals brings the end of a successful 2017-18 bowling season. Gina Patricelli (Troy/Lansingburgh) earned All-Conference, All-Region and All-American honors this season for the women's program. Kyla Day (Hoosick Falls/Hoosick Falls) also was earned All-Region and All-Conference honors this season.

The men's team had Spencer McClellan (Troy/Lansingburgh) receive All-Region and All-Conference honors along with Garrett Bartlett's (Brunswick/Tamarac) All-Region bid. Donald Baker (Ravena/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) garnered All-Conference this season after placing third in the overall Mountain Valley standings.
