The Hudson Valley Community College men's bowling team finished first out of eight competing colleges to win the Dutchess Invitational in Poughkeepsie. On the women's side, Hudson Valley finished second out of four teams.
The Vikings knocked down 9,287 pins (206.4 average) to pick up their first tournament win of the season. It's the second straight year Hudson Valley has won the tournament.
Sophomores Steve Horton (Troy/Troy High School) and Jesse Knapp (Colonie/Colonie High School) each had standout performances. They combined to win the doubles event with a score of 1,732. Knapp also finished second in the men's individual overall scoring with a 212 average.
Sophomore Katie Duncan (Voorheesville/Clayton A. Bouton High School) led the Lady Vikings, winning the women's individual overall event with a 208 average.
