The Hudson Valley Community College women's bowling team finished first out of five teams in the Hudson Valley Invitational, which was played at Hilltop Bowl in Speigletown. On the men's side, Hudson Valley finished third out of five schools.
Freshman Holly Churchill (Schenectady/Schenectady High School) rolled a high game 234 and a 662 series to lead the Lady Vikings. Freshman Erika Leonard (East Greenbush/Columbia High School) had a high game of 201 en route to a 585 series. Hudson Valley won the event with 2,844 pins (189.6 average), which were 428 more pins than second place Adirondack Community College.
Mohawk Valley Community College won the men's event with 3,395 pins (226.3 average). Hudson valley bowled a 3,223 (214.9 average).
Leading the way for Hudson Valley was sophomore Greg Jette (East Greenbush/Columbia High School), who bowled a 733 series and had a high game of 287. Freshman Joe Malone (Colonie/Colonie High School) rolled a high game 266 and a 690 series.
Hudson Valley will compete in the Dutchess Invitational on Saturday, February 7.
