The Hudson Valley Community College softball team was awarded the No. 5 seed in the 2025 NJCAA Division 3 Softball National Championship Tournament and is scheduled to take on No. 4 Community College of Rhode Island on Wednesday, May 21st at 12 p.m. at the Carrier Park in Dewitt, NY.
The softball program (22-5) won its third NJCAA Region 3A Championship (2015 & 2002) last week after sweeping SUNY Corning in the best-of-three championship series to clinch the berth for nationals.
The record setting season brought several individual recognitions. Led by Mo Collins, who was named the NJCAA Region 3 and Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year, headlines a talented Vikings team. Angelise Montanez also grabbed All-Region First Team honors as she leads the nation with a .581 batting average and was later named the Region 3 Tournament MVP.
A total of six individuals were named to the All-Region 3 teams. Joining Collins and Montanez were Izabelle Ratcliffe (First Team), Samantha Graham (First Team), Lily Brennan (First Team) and Maeve Brannigan (Second Team).
Coach Tedisco has been recognized by his peers and was voted the NJCAA Region 3 Coach of the Year for the second time in his career. Under his leadership, the Vikings captured their first Mountain Valley Conference championship in 17 years and their first Region 3 title since 2015, when the program finished third at nationals.
