Hudson Valley Community College's softball program has earned multiple All-Region and All-Conference accolades after a standout 2025 regular season in which the team posted a 20-5 overall record (16-1 in Region 3), securing the No. 1 seed in the NJCAA Region 3 postseason.
Leading the charge was star pitcher Moira Collins, who swept major postseason honors, being named NJCAA Region 3 Player of the Year and Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year. Collins has dominated in the circle, leading the NJCAA with a 1.02 ERA across 16 appearances. Heading into Thursday's Region 3 championship series, she has tallied 120 strikeouts and allowed just 12 runs in 82.1 innings pitched. She will graduate as the program's second all-time leader in strikeouts, with over 260 career Ks.
Joining Collins on the All-Region First Team are Angelise Montanez, Izabelle Ratcliffe, Samantha Graham, and Lily Brennan, while Maeve Brannigan earned All-Region Second Team recognition. All six, along with Reegan Mullen, also received Mountain Valley All-Conference First Team honors.
Angelise Montanez has been an offensive force atop Coach Rick Tedisco's lineup. She leads the NJCAA with a staggering .590 batting average, more than doubling her production from last year. Montanez has compiled 46 hits, 28 RBIs, and 15 extra-base hits, with a .910 slugging percentage (12th nationally). She leads the team in runs scored (53) and stolen bases (11), reaching base 64% of the time.
Izabelle Ratcliffe is enjoying a breakout sophomore season, batting .529 with 37 hits, 40 RBIs, 40 runs scored, and 12 extra-base hits, including a team-best five home runs. She carries a 12-game hitting streak into the championship series, featuring eight multi-hit games.
Freshman Samantha Graham has also shined, hitting .506 with 43 hits, 42 RBIs (a team-high), and four home runs. As the starting catcher in every game, she has played a crucial role in managing a pitching staff that has fueled the team's 20-win season.
Lily Brennan, the only other freshman alongside Graham to earn All-Region honors, has excelled on both sides of the ball. A nomination for the NFCA Defensive Player of the Year, Brennan has patrolled centerfield with a .917 fielding percentage, 31 putouts, and two assists. At the plate, she's hitting .419 with 31 hits, 21 RBIs, and 19 runs in just 25 games.
Maeve Brannigan has delivered consistent offense, batting .475 with 38 hits, 28 RBIs, and a .700 slugging percentage. She has recorded 13 multi-hit games, including five with three or more hits. Against conference opponents, she's been unstoppable, hitting .733 with a 1.333 slugging percentage, helping lead the Vikings to their first conference regular season title since 2008.
Reegan Mullen has been a two-way standout, serving as the team's No. 2 pitcher. She boasts an 8-1 record over 11 appearances and 50.1 innings, with a 2.33 ERA and 34 strikeouts. At the plate, last year's home run leader has added three more homers this season, with a .563 slugging percentage over 64 at-bats.
Head Coach Rick Tedisco has capped his final season with a historic run. For the second time since 2022, he has been named NJCAA Region 3 Coach of the Year. Under his leadership, the Vikings captured their first Mountain Valley Conference championship in 17 years and their first Region 3 title since 2015, when the program finished third at nationals.
Hudson Valley is currently ranked No. 8 in the latest NJCAA national coaches' poll and will look to make a deep run at the NJCAA Division III National Championship Tournament, taking place next week in Syracuse, NY.
