The Hudson Valley Community College hockey team (3-6-1) tied Erie Community College (6-1-1) 3-3 on Friday night.
Coming off of a victory over SUNY Broome, the Vikings looked to continue their winning streak against the Erie Kats. The Vikings gave up two goals in the first period and a third goal in the second.
James Morrison (Colonie/Colonie) put the Vikings on the board in the second period off a quick put back after the puck bounced off the Kats' goalie.
Heading into the third period, the Vikings were down 3-1 before Morrison scored his second goal of the night. Chris Breault (Agawam/Agawam, MA) scored on a power play with time running out to force the game into overtime.
Both teams were unable to score in OT, resulting in the first tie of the season for both the Vikings and the Kats.
Hudson Valley hosts Erie tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the Conway Ice Rink.
