Cayuga Sweeps Baseball in Season Series

The Hudson Valley Community College baseball team had to overcome a late finish from the night before and traveled west to play two more games against a quality Cayuga baseball program on Friday afternoon in Auburn, NY. 

GAME ONE: Cayuga 4, Hudson Valley 3

In the opening game, the Vikings had to overcome a 3-0 deficit as Cayuga put runs on the board in the second and fifth inning of the game. In the top of the sixth inning, Hudson Valley managed to tie the game up at 3-3, setting up the walk off sacrifice fly by Cayuga to pull out the 4-3 victory and claim the season series. 

GAME TWO: Cayuga 2, Hudson Valley 1 (9-innings)

In the final game of the day, Cayuga completed the sweep of the Vikings on another walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning. 

The Vikings held on to a 1-0 lead for the first half of the game when they put one run on the board in the third inning. Cayuga tied the game up in the sixth inning and later secured the series sweep with the game-winning single in the ninth. 

UP NEXT

The baseball team is returns to the diamond on Tuesday, April 19 when they travel to take on Adirondack for a doubleheader, which was previously scheduled for Saturday, April 9 when the games were rained out. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
