One of the greatest distance runners in Hudson Valley history, James Bowles captained the cross country team and track and field team. He led the 1974 cross country team to the Region III championship, earning All-Region III and NJCAA All-American accolades. He also garnered All-Region honors in track and field and established a new 10K and marathon record at Hudson Valley. He finished third in the marathon at the NJCAA national championship. Bowles was named an Academic All-American in 1975 and won the 1975 President’s Award for Hustle.
