She will also assist with departmental risk management, secondary insurance administration, concussion education, CPR/AED training, and the supervision of work-study students.
"I'm excited to continue my career at HVCC," said Ryan. "I have had the opportunity to step in as per diem this last semester and I am now honored to be a part of this team as a full-time employee."
Ryan works collaboratively with the Head Athletic Trainer to ensure student-athletes are medically eligible and supported in accordance with HVCC policies and NJCAA rules. Additionally, she contributes to educational programming for student-athletes, coaches, and staff related to sports medicine, nutrition, and overall health and wellness.
"We are excited to welcome Nicole back to Hudson Valley in this professional capacity," said Director of Athletics Justin Hoyt. "Her strong clinical background, commitment to student-athlete care, and understanding of our mission make her a valuable addition to our athletics and sports medicine team."
Ryan earned her Master of Science in Athletic Training from SUNY Cortland, her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the University at Albany, and an Associate of Science in Exercise Science from Hudson Valley Community College. She brings more than three years of clinical experience, having worked with a wide range of sports including football, baseball, gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, swimming and diving, and men's lacrosse at the high school and collegiate levels.
She holds current National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (BOC) credentials and is eligible for New York State licensure. Ryan is also certified in CPR/First Aid and Stop the Bleed.
Hudson Valley Community College Athletics is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and competitive environment for student-athletes while fostering academic achievement, equity, and personal development.
