Seebald Leads Women's Cross Country to Second Place Finish

The Hudson Valley Community College women's cross country team gave a determined performance at the NJCAA Region 3 Championships on Saturday morning at Herkimer College.
Leading the way for the Vikings was freshman standout Athena Seebald, who earned a second-place finish with a time of 22:44.8, demonstrating her competitive drive and setting a strong example for the team. Not far behind was Emily Wilson, who finished fifth overall, providing essential points for HVCC. Seebald and Wilson were each named to the 2024 All-Region team for their overall performance.
Meghan Cowles, Sanaiya Adams, and Brooklyn Callaghan completed the top five for Hudson Valley, with each runner placing in the top 15 and adding depth to the team's overall score. Their collective efforts propelled the Vikings to a second-place finish in the team standings, solidifying HVCC's position as a formidable force in the region.
Hudson Valley's performance reflects the athletes' dedication and resilience over the season, as they navigated the challenging 5K course with determination and teamwork. With this success, the Vikings will now set their sights on the NJCAA National Championships which is scheduled for Saturday, November 9th at Pole Green Park in Richmond, Va.
