Cross Country Competes at Steven A. Warde Invitational

The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's cross country programs began its 2023 season at the Steven A. Warde Invitational, hosted by SUNY Cobleskill in Cobleskill, NY on Saturday morning.

The men's program placed fifth out of nine participating programs and was led by Adam Blough, who placed 20th overall with a time of 32:01. William Petramale followed suit with a 27th place finish as he crossed the line at 33:07 and Jaco Kraft placed 29th at 33:22. Aaron Wilcox became the fourth Vikings runner to earn a top-30 finish in Cobleskill. Wilcox placed 30th with an official time of 33:30. Rounding out the team score was Ian Shaw, who posted a time of 34:16 and placed 38th overall.

The women's program also placed fifth overall out of six programs at the Steven A. Warde Invitational. The women's team was led by Rebecca Martin, who placed 29th overall with an official time of 33:40. Rebecca Seiter ran well and finished 31st overall with a time of 34:30 and Madison Washburn wasn't too far behind as she placed 35th overall with a final time of 35:25. Rounding out the women's team scoring was Madison Andrasy (43rd – 39:21) and Maia DiLego (49th - 43:12).

The cross country programs are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 23 as they travel to compete in the Fred Pavlich Invitational at Bard College. The meet is set to begin at 10 a.m. in Annandale-On-Hudson.
