Hudson Valley Community College men's cross country team competed in the James Earley Invitational on the campus of Westfield State University. The field featured a majority of NCAA Division III and Division II institutions.

The men's program finished 31st out of 37 teams with a total time of 2:42:18.78. Subri Ismail (Albany/Albany) was the first Vikings runner to cross the finish line in 92nd place with a time of 29:03.39. Ryan Moon (Colonie/Colonie) placed 148th and was the second Vikings runner to finish and posted a time of 30:46.88.

Anton Conto (Glenville/Niskayuna) completed the race with a time of 31:39.42 and Jeremy Marcy finished the 8K race in a final time of 32:43.22. Parker Swierkewski (Valatie/LaSalle) crossed the finish line in 38:05.91 and Nathanael Savasta (Coxsackie/Coxsackie-Athens) recorded a time of 44:41.00.

The women's cross country team participated in the 5K race at the James Earley Invitational at Westfield State University on Saturday morning.

Sarah Rosenberger (Saratoga Springs/Home School) was the first Vikings runner to cross the finish line, placing 181st with a time of 22:38.92. Mercedes Planavsky (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) finished right behind Rosenberger and crossed the finish line with a final time of 22:40.88.

Hayley Smith (East Greenbush/Bethlehem) crossed the finish line with an official time of 26:09.58.

The cross country programs will be back in action for the annual conference meet that will be held at SUNY Adirondack on Oct. 14.
