The Hudson Valley Community College cross country team finished eighth out of 11 competing teams at the NJCAA Division III championships at Sunken Meadows State Park in Kings Park. The host school, Suffolk Community College, won the event.
Freshman Malerie Tillman (Nassau/Columbia High School) was the Lady Vikings top finisher. She covered the 5,000-meter course in 22:49.
Tillman's teammates, Kalynn Wren (Salem/Salem High School) and Sarah Popovics (Gorham, ME/Gorham High School) finished right behind her. Wren was 26 th in 22:57. Popovics finished 27 th in 23:05.
