The Hudson Valley Community College cross country team finished fourth out of five schools at the Mountain Valley Conference Championship held at Proctor Park in Utica.
Sophomore Sarah Popovics was Hudson Valley's top runner, finishing eighth out of 32 runners. She covered the 5,000-meter course in 22:42. Popovics passed teammate Kalynn Wren at the finish line. Wren's ninth-place time was 22:43.
Hudson Valley will compete at the NJCAA Region III championships next Saturday, October 27 in Delhi.
