The Hudson Valley Community College cross country team put together its best outing in several years, finishing sixth out of 14 teams at the Bard Invitational Saturday. Hudson Valley was one of only four two-year colleges at the event.
Sophomore Kalynn Wren (Salem/Salem High School) earned medalist honors for Hudson Valley, finishing 19th out of 104 runners. She covered the 5,000 meter course in 23:14.
Sophomore Sarah Popovics (Gorham, ME/Gorham High School) crossed the finish line in 24:02, earning herself 33rd place. Freshman Malerie Tillman (Nassau/Columbia High School) finished 37th in a time of 24:20 and sophomore Brittany Grossman (Greenport/Hudson High School) was 65th with a time of 26:42.
Hudson Valley will be off next weekend and will compete in The College of Saint Rose Invitational on Friday, October 5.
