Volleyball Sweeps Mohawk Valley and Herkimer in Road Win

The Hudson Valley volleyball team defeated Mohawk Valley and Herkimer each in 3 straight sets at SUNY Adirondack.

GAME ONE: MOHAWK VALLEY 0, HUDSON VALLEY 3 (1-25, 9-25, 9-25)

The Vikings started their day off strong defeating Mohawk Valley in 3 straight sets and holding the Hawks to just 19 points in the whole match. Jordan Peacock and Olivia Linart led the team with 6 kills with only 1 attack error each. Peacock also tallied an ace on 3 serve attempts as well. Geena Fratangelo  had 6 aces on 24 attempts and 0 errors and Gabriella Kholstinin tallied 5 aces and 3 kills for the Vikings. 

GAME TWO: HUDSON VALLEY 3, HERKIMER 0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-23)

In game 2 the Vikings came out just as hot as they did in game 1. Abbigail Newell led the team with 14 kills, 11 digs, and 2 aces. Peacock had another great game with 13 kills, 3 aces, 3 blocks, and 1 dig. Kholstinin had 28 assists, 9 digs, 2 kills and 2 aces as well. The Vikings were a powerhouse team at the pod dominating both teams they faced.

The Vikings next game is Tuesday, October 15th at Utica University as they face the Pioneers for an exhibition match at 4pm.
