The Hudson Valley Community College volleyball team dropped both Region 3 matches as they went up against two of the best programs in the Region, Jefferson and nationally-ranked Fulton-Montgomery in Watertown, NY.
GAME ONE: JEFFERSON 3, HUDSON VALLEY 0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-23)
The Viking's first game of the day ended in a straight-sets defeat by host Jefferson. The Vikings nearly edged out a couple of set wins but were unable to extend the match against a quality Jefferson program.
Gabriella Kholstinin accumulated 17 assists and added three kills and four digs over the course of the three-set match. Offensively, the Vikings were led by Abbigail Newell, who finished with a team-high eight kills on 23 attack attempts. Newell also led the team with a pair of service aces.
GAME TWO: #11 FULTON-MONTGOMERY 3, HUDSON VALLEY 0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-15)
The second game of the day, the Vikings went up against nationally-ranked Fulton-Montgomery and dropped the match 3-0.
Gabriella Kholstinin continued to control the pace of the offense as the team's primary setter and accumulated 15 assists in the match. She also played a big role on the defense side of the ball, tallying a team-high nine total digs.
Abbigail Newell continued to be the team's top hitter as she finished with a team-best seven kills. Newell also added three defensive digs.

The team is poised to get back to its winning ways as they are amid a three-game losing streak. The Vikings will look to end the skid on Tuesday, Sept. 24th when they return home to take on Mohawk Valley in the McDonough Sports Complex at 6 p.m.
