Volleyball Earns a Win Over Herkimer in 3 Sets

The Hudson Valley Community College volleyball team earned their second win of the season on Wednesday night. They defeated the Herkimer Generals in straight sets, 3-0 (25-11, 25-23, 25-21).
Hudson Valley served strong with Gabriella Kholstinin's 27 serve attempts and 0 serve errors, and Olivia Linart with 2 aces on 11 attempts and only 2 errors. She also added 7 kills, 3 digs and 2 assists to the stats as well. Kholstinin finished the game with 23 assists, 6 digs and 1 kill. Another leader on the night's stat sheet was Jordyn Peacock, tallying 10 kills, 5 solo blocks, 3 block assists, and 2 digs. Abbigail Newell added 8 kills, 7 digs, and only 1 error on 10 serve attempts. The team finished with 36 kills, 30 digs and only 5 errors on 74 serve attempts.
The volleyball team is back in action on Saturday, September 14 for their home opening pod. They will face SUNY Niagara at 9 a.m. and Erie CC at 11 a.m. in the McDonough Sports Complex.
