Volleyball Season Concludes with a 5-set Loss at Orange

The Hudson Valley Community College women's volleyball team (9-14) dropped their season finale at Orange Community College 3-2 (25-19, 14-25, 25-22, 22-25, 14-16) on Thursday evening.

The Vikings combined for 56 kills, nine service aces, 54 assists and seven blocks in the five sets. Danielle Pardo (Averill Park/Averill Park) had a monster game with a season high 52 assists and Alayna Fredenburg (Rotterdam/Schalmont) converted 21 kills on 67 attempts.  Olivia Fischer (Averill Park/Averill Park) and Jessica Getty (Hartford/Hartford) also accumulated double-digit kills with 14 and 12 kills, respectively.

The 2017 volleyball team had its most successful season since the program finished 11-10 in 2010. Fredenburg finished the season leading the Vikings in total kills this season, surpassing 200 kills on the year. Pardo averaged nearly 20 assists per match and amassed 440 total assists this season and Megan Woods (Averill Park/Averill Park) led the Vikings with nearly 400 total digs.
