Volleyball Finishes 1-2 at Onondaga Pod

The Hudson Valley Community College women's volleyball improved to 6-10 on the season after compiling a 1-2 record on Saturday afternoon at the Onondaga pod.

Vikings (6-8) vs. Cayuga

The Vikings won the first match of the Onondaga pod after defeating Cayuga 3-1 (25-14, 25-20, 16-25, 25-17). The Vikings accumulated 41 kills, four service aces, 29 assists and eight digs in the four set match. Alayna Fredenburg (Rotterdam/Schalmont) had 14 kills, hitting .200 and added three digs. Danielle Pardo (Averill Park/Averill Park) compiled 27 of the teams 29 assists and Jacqueline McCormick (Plattsburgh/Plattsburgh) led the Vikings with a .278 hitting percentage on six kills.

Vikings (6-9) vs. Jefferson

The Vikings dropped its match against Jefferson in straight sets 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-14) in their second match of the day. The Vikings tallied 16 kills, 17 assists, five digs and four service aces. Fredenburg led the Vikings with eight kills and Olivia Fischer (Averill Park/Averill Park) added five kills in the three sets. Pardo continued to lead the Vikings in assists, adding another 16 assists to her season totals.

Vikings (6-10) vs. Onondaga

The Vikings closed out pod play against host Onondaga, dropping the match 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-18). The Vikings had 13 total kills with Fredenburg's team-high seven kills. Pardo tallied eight of the teams nine assists and the Vikings accumulated six total digs.

Volleyball has one match this week as they travel to face Adirondack on Wednesday, Oct. 4 with a scheduled 7 p.m. start time.
