The Hudson Valley Community College women's volleyball hosted their annual regional pod today at McDonough Sports Complex and finished the day with a 1-2 record.

Vikings (2-5) vs. Jamestown

The Vikings dropped its first match of the day to Jamestown in straight sets 3-0 (7-25, 18-25, 22-25). The Vikings recorded 16 kills on 84 attempts, 12 service aces and 45 digs. Danielle Pardo (Averill Park/Averill Park) led the team with seven kills and had a team-high .222 hitting percentage. Megan Woods (Averill Park/Averill Park) finished the first match with 19 digs, also a team-high.

Vikings (2-6) vs. Erie

The Vikings nearly forced a decisive fifth game against Erie but dropped the match in four sets 3-1 (19-25, 16-25, 26-24, 20-25). As a team, the Vikings combined for 31 kills, 28 assists, 10 service aces, 73 digs and seven blocks. Alayna Fredenburg (Rotterdam/Schalmont) hit a team-high .212 with 11 kills and four errors on 33 attempts. Pardo recorded a team-high 18 assists and added 10 digs in her four sets played. Pardo was one of three Vikings to finish the match with double-digit digs. Woods finished with 23 digs and Kirstin Wood (Colonie/Colonie) had 10 digs. Jessica Getty (Hartford/Hartford) claimed five of the teams seven blocks.

Vikings (3-6) vs. Niagara

The Vikings closed out pod play with a 3-0 win over Niagara (25-11, 25-20, 25-21). The Vikings combined for 17 kills, 16 assists, seven service aces, 39 digs and five blocks in the three sets. Getty and Fredenburg shared 11 of the team's 17 kills and Wood led all Vikings with 10 digs.

The Vikings return to action next weekend on Sept. 23 as they travel to Corning Community College for more pod play and will play Corning, Tompkins-Cortland and Broome.
