Track and Field Concludes Season at Nationals

The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's track and field programs concluded the 2023 season at the final day of the 2023 NJCAA Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Saturday at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY.

The men's program placed seventh overall and accumulated 48 total points as they scored in nine events over the course of the three-day championship meet. Charles Benichoux placed second overall and was named a 2023 NJCAA All-American in the men's 100m dash event.

Demetrius Williams added five team points on day three in the men's 110m hurdles event as he placed fourth overall with a time of 15.73. Williams followed it up with a seventh-place finish in the men's 400m hurdles to add two more points to the team's total tally.

In the men's shot put, Jalen Graham and Guerin Dupuis combined for three team points as Graham placed seventh overall with an official throw of 12.41m. Dupuis placed eighth overall as he tossed the shot put a distance of 12.31m.

The women's program placed 16th overall with 16 total points over the three-days in Utica, NY. On Saturday, the women's 4x100m relay team collected two team points with a seventh-place finish. The relay team of Nisa Osman-Mergani, Alyssa Bruno, Sophie Ericson and Ocean Meda finished with a time of 59.45. Meda also collected two more points for the team as she earned a seventh-place finish in the women's 100m dash event with a time of 13.20.
