The Hudson Valley Community College women's tennis team have hit their stride as the Vikings have now won three straight matches after defeating Herkimer 6-3 on Monday afternoon in Troy, NY. 

The Vikings top four singles players defeated their Herkimer opponents in straight sets. The Vikings Jacqueline Bornt (Wynantskill/Averill Park) won her match in straight sets as the team's No.1 seed. She defeated Sonya Odgen 6-0, 6-0 to remain unbeaten in Singles action. Later, Bornt and Miranda Morrison (Colonie/Colonie) teamed up at the Vikings No.1 Doubles team to defeat Herkimer's Ogden and Jordan Lee 8-0. 

Morrison defeated Natalie Todd in the No.2 Singles flight in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Susannah Frisch (Cambridge/Cambridge) defeated Lee 6-3, 6-2 and Natalie Mercedes (Rensselaer/Rensselaer) won at No.4 singles 6-3, 6-1 over Jill Dudin. Frisch and Mercedes teamed up to at the No.2 Doubles for an 8-0 win to secure the overall match win.

The women's tennis team is back home on Saturday, September 29 and is scheduled to play Onondaga at noon.
