Hudson Valley Community College women's tennis was defeated by Onondaga 7-2 at home on Saturday afternoon.

The Vikings two wins came from No.2 Madeline Gibbons (Averill Park/Averill Park) (6-2, 6-1) and No.3 Sarah Sampson (Albany/Albany) (4-6, 6-4, 6-3) as both remain unbeaten at 3-0 in singles play. The top flight matchup saw Onondaga's Brooke Murphy defeat the Vikings No.1 Laura Ciotoli (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville in straight sets (1-6, 5-7).

Saphire Ahlers (Rotterdam Junction/Schalmont) was defeated by Onondaga's Jenny Lapp in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 and Natalie Mercedes (Rensselaer/Rensselaer) competed at No.5 singles for the Vikings, dropping her match 6-0, 6-2.

The Vikings are back home tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 17 to face Broome Community College at 1 p.m. on the Hudson Valley Tennis Courts behind Joe Bruno Stadium.
