Kurtis Smith enters his fourth season as head coach of the Vikings women's soccer program in 2024-25. Coach Smith has steadily guided the team, earning two NJCAA Region 3 playoff berths and making strides in developing the program’s competitiveness within the region.

In the 2023-24 season, Coach Smith led the team to an 8-6-1 record, marking the program’s second winning season under his guidance. The team averaged 2.3 goals per game and continued to improve offensively, showing promising growth and cohesion.

In 2022-23, the Vikings finished with a 6-9-1 record. Despite the challenges, they secured a spot in the NJCAA Region 3 playoffs, where they upset Jefferson 3-0 on the road to advance to the Region 3 semifinal round. The team scored 33 goals across 15 games, averaging 2.20 goals per game.

In his first season in 2021-22, Coach Smith took the program to a 9-6 record, achieving a home playoff win against Jefferson with another 3-0 victory, ultimately reaching the Region 3 semifinal round against top-ranked Mohawk Valley.

Beyond HVCC, Coach Smith is involved with the New York Shockers Women (WPSL) as head coach and serves as Director of Team Training for Beestera Soccer Training, based in Albany, NY. Previously, he coached the Hudson Valley Crusaders Women (UWS2) and was the Director of Coaching at Hudson Valley Premier Soccer in Saugerties, NY.

Internationally, Coach Smith has coached with prominent clubs, including Shrewsbury Town FC (England) and Cardiff City FC (Wales). His experience also includes roles with the University of South Wales men’s program and Newtown FC in the Welsh Premier League Academy.

Coach Smith's international background and comprehensive coaching experience bring valuable expertise to Hudson Valley, where he continues to develop a competitive and resilient women's soccer program.
