The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team earned a win over SUNY Broome 3-2 in Binghamton on Wednesday afternoon.
Opening up the scoring was Viking's forward Lauren Foglia in the 9th minute off an assist from teammate Alison Rimes. The Hornets fought back, scoring just under a minute later to keep the score tied. The Viking's won a penalty kick and for her second of the day, Lauren Foglia slotted the ball in the back of the net to make the score 2-1. With jjst 2 minutes left in the first half the Hornets tied the game up again but shortly after halftime Abigayle Yetto scored the deciding goal in the 47th minute of the game, Rimes with the assist once again. Meaghan Casabonne played a full 90 minutes in goal and tallied 7 saves out of 9 shots on goal, keeping the Vikings in the game.
The women face Finger Lakes in Canandaigua this upcoming Saturday, September 28th at 3pm.
