The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team dropped a tough Region 3 matchup 4-0 against nationally-ranked Genesee at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of HVCC on Saturday afternoon.

The No. 2 Courgars proved to be too much for the short-handed Vikings, but Hudson Valley played well, keeping the Cougars off the board for the majority of the first-half. An in-game injury forced the Vikings to play the remainder of the game without a substitution and Genesee took advantage, scoring three more goals in the game to secure the victory.

Josephine O'Hare allowed the four goals in 90-minutes, but also made several spectacular saves throughout the game, accumulating 17 total saves. Lauren Foglia and Emma Spadaro and Sophia Belonga each recorded two shots.

The women's soccer team doesn't have much time to rest as they are back home tomorrow, Sunday, September 10 as they welcome Southern Maine Community College to the Outdoor Athletic Complex beginning at 12 p.m.
