Women's Soccer Wins 5-1; Ryan Scores Four Goals

The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer forward Maggie Ryan scored four goals to lead the Vikings to a 5-1 victory over the Jamestown Jayhawks at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on Sunday afternoon in Troy, NY. 

The Vikings jumped on the board first as Maggie Ryan connected for her 10th goal of the season. Ryan collected a deflection off on her corner kick attempt and sent a well-placed shot from the right-side of the field to the top-left corner of the net for the score. The Vikings entered the halftime break leading 1-0. 

In the second half, Ryan went on a run, scoring three of her game-high four goals to help push the Vikings lead on Jamestown. Ryan scored at the 68-minute and again at the 80-minute and the 89-minute mark in the game. Madilyn Zakrzewski assisted on Ryan's final goal of the game with the cross pass to the center of the field, setting up Ryan's goal. 

In goal for the Vikings, Tessa Seifert collected eight saves and allowed just one goal to record her first win of the season as the Vikings keeper.  

Upcoming Schedule

The Vikings are back in action this Wednesday, October 5 when they travel to take on SUNY Broome in Binghamton, NY. The game is set to begin at 2 p.m.
