The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer program advanced to the NJCAA Region 3 quarterfinal round following their 3-0 home win over No. 9 Jefferson Community on Sunday afternoon at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley.

The game was a contrast to last week's shutout win where the Vikings put up seven goals on the Cannoneers as the two programs fought hard to a scoreless first half at the midway point.

Following the break, the Vikings found their stride and were led by Allison Waldron, who quickly found the back of the net at the 50-minute mark, breaking the scoreless tie and putting the Vikings on track to advance to the next round.

Nearly 16 minutes later, Waldron was at it again, scoring her second goal of the game at the 66-minute mark and the Viking went up 2-0.

Hudson Valley added one more for good measure as Grace Mathes posted her third goal of the season after she collected a crossing pass from Waldron and she sent the shot right by Jefferson's keeper.

The win earns the Vikings a semifinal matchup with the region's top-seeded Mohawk Valley Community College on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the turf field at SUNY Poly in Utica, NY.
