The Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer team (2-1) is victorious after defeating Adirondack 7-0 this afternoon in Queensbury, NY.

The Vikings offense erupted for a season-high seven goals to extend its early-season winning streak to two straight games with three goals coming in the first half.  The Vikings have become accustom to scoring goals as they scored five or more goals in a game five separate times last season.

Freshman Leigha Alleshouse (Greenwich/Greenwich) opened the scoring with an unassisted goal from the right side, near the 18-yard marker to give the Vikings the 1-0 lead with 24:22 remaining in the first half.

Susannah Frisch (Cambridge/Cambridge) connected for two goals today with the first coming at the 15:19 mark in the first half on an assist from Sydnee Metzold (Rotterdam/Schalmont). Metzold found Frisch on the left side for the Vikings second goal of the game. Metzold tallied her second assist when she found Bethany Pochobradsky (Rotterdam/Mohonasen) on a short pass up the middle for the 3-0 lead with 3:46 remaining in the half.

Frisch's second goal came early in the second half, giving the Vikings the 4-0 lead on an assist from Paige Bailey (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) at the 37:52 mark. The Vikings barrage of goals continued with Emily Cronk (Roxbury/Roxbury) scoring on a rebound and then Bailey added to her point total with the Vikings sixth goal of the game at the 13:50 mark off the assist from Anna Colarusso (Poughkeepsie/Arlington).

Sydney Buhrke (Coxsackie/Coxsackie-Athens) added to the Vikings offensive output as she scored her first goal of the 2017 season. A well-positioned Buhrke corralled the rebound off the keeper to score the seventh and final goal of the day.

The Vikings look to continue their success this Saturday at home when they welcome Corning Community College to Troy for a 1 p.m. start.
