Coach Abbey DeRossi enters her third year as an assistant coach on the Vikings staff. She brings several years of experience to Hudson Valley as a former NCAA Division III student-athlete for SUNY New Paltz. 

During her career at New Paltz, she appeared in 76 games for the Hawks and helped the program reach new heights by setting school records for wins in a season (19) and conference wins (12) in a single year. DeRossi was a Section II girls basketball star at Albany High School, where she was a Big Ten First Team All-Star during her senior season. 

DeRossi is currently employed as a communications manager for the Sports Philanthropy Network, where she develops and implements long-term, project-based communications strategies through various communications channels, including newsletters, blogs and spotlights. 

Prior to working at Sports Philanthropy Network, she was a full-time administrative and managerial assistant in New York City for nine years. Coach DeRossi holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from SUNY New Paltz and a master’s degree in sports management from SUNY Cortland.
