Women’s Basketball Dominates Mohawk Valley to Advance in Region 3 Tournament

The Hudson Valley women's basketball team put on a commanding performance in their Region 3 Quarterfinal matchup, rolling past Mohawk Valley with a dominant 91-51 victory. The Vikings shot an impressive 50% from the field and controlled the game from start to finish.
Myanna Faraj led the scoring charge with 21 points on an efficient 9-of-15 shooting, while Stylianna Mantzouris followed closely with 17 points, adding 3 assists and 3 rebounds. Leah Pergola contributed 13 points and showcased her all-around game with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Gracemary Baumann was a force inside, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and pulling down 7 rebounds.
The Vikings' depth proved to be a major factor, as Deonna Brodie provided a spark off the bench with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Abigail Newell and Destiny Pipino added 8 and 5 points, respectively, helping Hudson Valley's bench outscore Mohawk Valley's reserves. The team also displayed strong defensive effort, racking up 13 steals and forcing multiple turnovers.
With this decisive win, Hudson Valley advances to the Region 3 Semifinals, looking to keep their momentum going as they chase a championship.
