The Hudson Valley women's basketball team came out strong in their home opening win over Tompkins Cortland.
The Vikings were once again led by captain Leah Pergola with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Stylianna Mantzouris added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to the score sheet as well. Myanna Faraj also tallied 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists for the Vikings.
The Vikings outscored the Panthers in all 4 quarters of the game and led on the stat sheet in all categories except rebounds, only trailing by 2. The team shot a 49.3 field goal percentage, 33.3% for 3-pointers, and shot 60% from the free throw line.
The Vikings play again on Sunday, November 24th on the road at SUNY Broome at 1pm.
