Women's Basketball Grabs Convincing Road Win at Genesee

The Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball team completed the weekend sweep after they defeated Genesee 60-32 on Sunday afternoon in Batavia, NY.

Hudson Valley took a commanding lead early as they won the first quarter 19-10 and carried their momentum into half time with a 29-14 advantage. The Vikings were able to overcome their second half struggles with a solid third quarter, which they were able to extend their lead after winning the quarter 15-8.

Seven Vikings were able to score at least three points or more in the game and they were led by Destiny Pipino, who finished the game with a game-high 14 points and she added seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals.

Leah Pergola played limited minutes in the convincing win and scored 11 points on 4-of-16 shooting and added seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. Abigayle Yetto dropped 11 points with a game-high eight steals, five assists and five rebounds.

The Vikings improved to 4-4 on the season and will play its final game of the fall semester this Tuesday, Dec. 12 as they travel to take on SUNY Rockland in Suffern, NY at 5 p.m.
