Women's Basketball Season Ends with Quarterfinal Loss

The Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball season came to an end after they were defeated 80-50 by No. 2 Onondaga in Syracuse, NY on Thursday evening.

The Vikings and the Lazers battled for the entire first half of the game, trading baskets, with the Lazers eventually grabbing the 27-25 lead at the halftime break.

In the second half, the Vikings imploded as they couldn't break the Lazers pressure and were outscored by the nationally ranked Lazers 28-13 in the third quarter and trailed 55-38 to start the fourth quarter.

In the final quarter, the Lazers continued with the strong defensive pressure and pushed their lead as they outscored Hudson Valley 25-12 in the quarter.

The Vikings were led by Payton Graber, who scored 17 points in her first game back from injury and Tylah Langley scored in double-digits as she finished with 11 points.

The Vikings falls to 10-10 on the season following the loss and will hit the recruiting trail for the 2023-24 season.
