The women's basketball program earned the No. 7 seed and will have to travel to take on nationally-ranked Onondaga in Syracuse, NY on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. In their previous matchup with the Lazers, the Vikings were defeated 90-65, as a result of a second half offensive burst by Onondaga. Tylah Langley scored a team-best 14 points, with 12 points coming in the second half of that game.
The women's basketball program has been led by freshman Payton Graber, who currently ranks second in the NJCAA with 25.3 points per game. She is also a nationally-ranked defender as she is second in the nation with 5.3 steals. Graber is nearly averaging a double-double as she leads the team with 9.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
Nya Ewans-Edmonds has a great season for HVCC. She is averaging just under 15 points per game and 6.6 rebounds. She has stepped out a great deal towards the end of the season as they Vikings were hit with an injury bug. She is averaging 18 points per game in the final seven games of the season. She has been consistent all season long and has not missed a game this year.
If you can't make it to Allyn Hall on the campus of Onondaga, the game will be streamed on the Lazers Live Sports Network at https://onondagalazers.com/sports/2016/9/14/LLSN.aspx.
