The Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball team was dominant in their 72-23 win over Finger Lakes Community College as the Vikings recognized its senior class prior to the game in the McDonough Sports Complex at HVCC on Sunday afternoon.

The Vikings got off to a huge start against the Lakers as they outscored Finger lakes 25-2 in the opening quarter and they extended their lead and entered halftime with a 33-6 advantage. The offensive power by the Vikings, combined with the swift defensive pressure, which caused 32 turnovers, helped Hudson Valley to the convincing win.

Leading the way for the Vikings was Payton Graber, who shot 10-of-13 from the floor for 22 points and added 10 rebounds, seven steals and two assists in only 21 minutes of game action. Nya Ewans-Edmonds, one of the three seniors the program recognized prior to the game, had a big day as well. In 25 minutes of play, Ewans-Edmonds shot 8-of-18 from the floor for 18 points and tallied seven rebounds, dished out three assists and had a pair of steals.

As a team, the Vikings shot 42 percent from the floor and grabbed 55 rebounds and 22 steals. Tylah Langley finished the game with double-double with 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds in 29 minutes.

Hudson Valley women's basketball returns to the court on Saturday, February 4 when they travel to take on Jefferson Community College at 1 p.m. in Watertown, NY.
