Hudson Valley Community College's women's basketball program earned its best win of the season as they completed their upset bid over No. 15 North Country 64-62 in the McDonough Sports Complex at HVCC on Tuesday evening.

The Vikings were led by a talented trio, who all recorded a double-double in the program's critical Region 3 win. The nation's leading scorer, Payton Graber, shot 5-of-24 from the floor and finished with a team-high 17 points and grabbed a career-best 17 rebounds along with five assists and five steals in 36 minutes of action.

Nya Ewans-Edmonds played a huge role in the Vikings victory tonight as well as she had several spurts throughout the game where she took over on the offensive end to will the Vikings to the win. Ewans-Edmonds shot 7-of-17 from the floor and hit two important free throws to push the game to a four-point lead with seconds remaining, securing the upset win for Hudson Valley. Ewans-Edmonds also grabbed 12 rebounds for her third double-double performance of the season. Tylah Langley added 10 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the semester.

The game featured 16 lead changes and 12 instances where the game was tied and neither team held on to a lead larger than five points at any time throughout the game. The game was evenly matched and the Vikings proved they have the ability to play with some of the nation's top programs.

Hudson Valley returns to the court this Sunday, January 29 for Senior Day when they welcome Finger Lakes to the McDonough Sports Complex at HVCC. The game is scheduled to begin at Noon and the game will be streamed at hvccathletics.com/watch.
