Graber, Langley combined for 50 in Road Win

The Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball team got back to its winning ways as they earned an 87-58 road win over SUNY Broome in Binghamton, NY on Saturday afternoon.

The Vikings came out to a strong start as they jumped out to an 21-8 lead after the first quarter, which featured seven Vikings to record at least one basket. The second quarter featured more of the same team-first play as the scoring was evenly distributed among the entire team and they managed to extend the lead to 41-26 at the halftime break.

In the second half the Vikings exploded for 26 points in the third quarter with Payton Graber tallying 12 points and Tylah Langley added nine points in the quarter. Graber finished with a game-high 26 points and Langley was not too far behind with 24 points, both recording 10 made field goals.

Leemya Garcia played her best game of the season as she added nine points and Nya Ewans-Edmonds finished the game with eight points. All eight Vikings players scored at least four points as they earned their fourth win of the season and improved to 4-5 on the season.

The women's basketball program returns to the court tomorrow, Sunday, January 15 as they close out the weekend road trip at Tompkins Cortland in Dryden, NY. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., following the conclusion of the men's game.
