Women's Basketball Dominates in Road Win

The Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball dominated SUNY Adirondack on the road to claim a 76-27 in Queensbury, NY on Tuesday evening.

The Vikings jumped out to a quick start and took a convincing 26-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. Payton Graber and Nya Ewans-Edmonds combined to score 12 of the team's 26 points in the quarter. They Vikings then doubled up Adirondack in the second quarter, 20-10 and held on to a 46-15 advantage at halftime.

The Vikings defense continued to cause several Timberwolves turnovers in the second half as they outscored Adirondack 30-12 in the second half to secure their second win of the season and snap their three-game losing streak.

The Vikings were led by Graber, who finished the game with 21 points on seven field goals made and 5-of-5 from the free throw line. Ewans-Edmonds added 19 points and Sidney Phillips had a strong game with a career-best 16 points, including 10 points in the second half of the game.

The Vikings return to the court on Wednesday, December 7 when they host Herkimer at 5 p.m. at the McDonough Sports Complex at HVCC. Hudson Valley has two games remaining in the fall semester before the holiday break.
