Hudson Valley's women's basketball student-athlete Lyndsay Miller (Loudonville/Shaker) has been named the NJCAA Women's Basketball National Player of the Week as announced by the governing body. Miller was also named the NJCAA Region 3 Women's Basketball Player of the Week, becoming the first Vikings student-athlete to sweep the regional and national weekly awards since women's soccer's All-American Sydnee Metzold did it earlier this year on Sept. 11.
Miller had a career week as the Vikings finished 2-0 with wins against Kingsborough and Springfield Tech. Miller finished with a career-best 26 points in the road win over Kingsborough and she followed it up with 20 points and 10 rebounds in the Vikings 114-82 win against Springfield Tech. Lyndsay filled the stat sheet last week as she averaged 23 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game.
The Vikings women's basketball program is currently ranked No. 10 in the latest NJCAA national poll with a 10-3 record. The program is returns to the court after the holiday break for the NHTI Tournament hosted by Concord Community College in Concord, New Hampshire on Jan. 5-6, 2019.
