Women's Basketball Falls to No. 5 Onondaga

Hudson Valley's women's basketball team (6-3) lost a tough matchup with No. 5 ranked Onondaga on Wednesday evening in the McDonough Sports Complex in Troy, NY.
Taylor Engster (Troy/Catholic Central) played well for the Vikings as she finished with 15 points, eight assists and grabbed six rebounds. Engster finished the game shooting 7-for-16 from the floor.
Hannah Kreiger (Brunswick/Tamarac) and Caitlin Estes (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) combined to score 30 points and combined for 13 field goals made. Kreiger finished with 15 points, which included 3-for-11 from behind the arc. Estes also had 15 points on 7-for-14 shooting and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
Lyndsay Miller (Loudonville/Shaker) provided extra hustle to the team as she accounted for five offensive rebounds, seven total and added a pair of steals on the defensive end.
The Vikings trailed 38-30 at the half but went cold in the third quarter as the Lazers outscored Hudson Valley 26-15 in the quarter. The Vikings ended the game on a high note as they outscored Onondaga 21-15 in the final quarter.
Hudson Valley is home again this Saturday, December 8 as they play Tompkins Cortland at 3 p.m.
