Engster, Graber Leads Vikings Over Orange

Hudson Valley's women's basketball team (5-1) pulled away in the second half to win their second straight game as the Vikings defeated Orange 89-77 on Thursday night in the McDonough Sports Complex.
Five Vikings players finished the game with at least 11 points and were led by Madison Graber (Schenectady/Schalmont) and Taylor Engster (Troy/Catholic Central). Engster, this week's Region 3 Player of the Week, finished one rebound shy of her first career triple-double as she recorded 18 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds. Graber finished with 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
Hannah Kreiger (Brunswick/Tamarac) played well for the Vikings as she had 16 points and added five rebounds and five assists. Caitlin Estes (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) has proven to be an efficient scorer off the bench this season. Estes finished with 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting, including 3-for-4 from behind the arc.
Hayley Jones (Catskill/Catskill) added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Hudson Valley is back in action as they take on a pair of Region 3 opponents this weekend as they travel to play Finger Lakes on Saturday at 1 p.m. and travel to Corning on Sunday for a 12 p.m. start.
