Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball (18-9) closed out their regular season schedule with a convincing 75-55 win over Fulton-Montgomery on Wednesday evening at the McDonough Sports Complex in Troy, N.Y.

Prior to the game, the Vikings program honored their lone senior and captain, Kali Szczepanski (Las Vegas/Watervliet). During the Vikings season-high six game win-streak, Kali averaged 13 points per game and shot 40 percent from the field and helped the Vikings end their three-year postseason drought. Szczepanski finished the game with 10 points, four rebounds and three assists.

The Vikings freshmen leaders, Hannah Kreiger (Brunswick/Tamarac) and Taylor Engster (Troy/Catholic Central) controlled the game offensively as they combined to score 51 of the team's 75 points tonight. Kreiger continued to find her shot from behind the arc as she shot 6-for-11 from long range for a game-high 27 points with eight rebounds. Kreiger currently ranks inside the top-5 nationally with 89 three-point field goals made this season. Tonight's 24 points for Kreiger is the tenth time she has surpassed the 20-point plateau this season.

Engster recorded her fifth double-double on the season after scoring 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in tonight's win. Engster finished 8-for-17 from the floor, including 3-for7 from behind the arc and has surpassed double-digit scoring in each of the last five games for Hudson Valley.

The NJCAA Region 3 postseason schedule is set to be released on Saturday evening and the Vikings will then learn their postseason fate.
