Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball (15-9) fell 76-57 to Columbia-Greene Community College on Wednesday evening in the McDonough Sports Complex.

The Vikings remained close throughout the first half of the game as they entered the break trailing the Twins 30-26. The Twins came out of the half with an explosive third quarter and scored 33 points and allowed the Vikings to score only 17 points and Hudson Valley was unable to recover in the final quarter.

Hayley Jones (Catskill/Catskill) led all of the Vikings starters with 13 points and six rebounds. Jones shot 5-for-10 from the floor and hit a pair of three-point field goals. Cameran Henderson (Green Island/Heatly) came off the bench and also scored 13 points for the Vikings. Henderson shot 6-for-11 from the floor and added five rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes

Taylor Engster (Troy/Catholic Central) played well for the Vikings as she finished with 12 points, four rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes.

The women's basketball team hits the road on Saturday, Feb. 17 as they travel to play Mohawk Valley at 1 p.m.
