Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball (15-8) had their six game winning streak snapped after falling to North Country 78-58 on Saturday afternoon in the McDonough Sports Complex.

The Vikings entered the fourth quarter tied 49-49 but fell behind quickly as North Country went on a 20-2 run to start the final quarter and pulled away from the Vikings.

Taylor Engster (Troy/Catholic Central) led the Vikings with 16 points, including three three-point field goals. Kali Szczepanski (Las Vegas/Watervliet) and Hannah Kreiger (Brunswick/Tamarac) each scored 11 points. Haley Jones (Catskill/Catskill) finished with 12 points and seven rebounds for the Vikings.

For North Country, Ty Taylor led all scorers with 22 points for the Saints.  

The women's basketball team is back home on Wednesday, Feb. 14 to play Columbia-Greene at 5 p.m.
