Women's Basketball Wins Sixth Straight!

Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball (15-7) won their sixth straight game after defeating Clinton Community College 80-30 on Thursday evening in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

The Vikings jumped out to an early 20-0 advantage after the first quarter as seven of the nine student-athletes scored at least two points in the quarter. The sharp-shooting offense continued in the second quarter as the Vikings poured in another 27 points and entered halftime with a 47-13 lead.

Kali Szczepanski (Las Vegas/Watervliet) led all scorers with 22 points (9-for-18) and added four rebounds, four assists and six steals. Hannah Kreiger (Brunswick/Tamarac) finished the game with 18 points, including four made three-point field goals in 27 minutes of play. Kreiger also recorded four steals as the Vikings totaled 21 steals as a team.

Taylor Engster (Troy/Catholic Central) played well for the Vikings with nine points and a game-high nine assists in 26 minutes and Cameran Henderson (Green Island/Heatly) and Asali Valentine (Elmhurst/Academy of American Studies) each scored eight points and combined to shoot 8-for-11 from the floor.

The women's basketball team back home on Saturday, Feb. 10 as they go for their seventh straight win against North Country at 3 p.m.
