Women's Basketball Defeats Adirondack 75-64 for Fourth Straight Win

Hudson Valley Community College women's basketball (13-7) extended their win streak to four straight games following the Vikings 75-64 victory over Adirondack on Wednesday evening in Queensbury, NY.

Hannah Kreiger (Brunswick/Tamarac) led all scorers with a game-high 20 points and shot 7-for-15 from the floor, including 4-for-11 from behind the arc. Kreiger has reached 20 points in seven games this year and currently leads the Vikings with 14.8 points per game this season.

Kali Szczepanski (Las Vegas/Watervliet) and Melpomeni Doutsis (Albany/Albany) each scored 13 points in the Vikings win. Szczepanski took over the game in the fourth quarter as she scored eight of her 13 points in the final frame. Doutsis found the range with three 3-point field goals made in 24 minutes of play and finished the game with a double-double as she recorded 10 rebounds to go with her 13 points.

Taylor Engster (Troy/Catholic Central), Hayley Jones (Catskill/Catskill) and Cameran Henderson (Green Island/Heatly) combined to score 25 points. Henderson added four assists, five steals and eight rebounds. Jones scored eight points and recorded eight rebounds in 25 minutes and Engster shot 4-for-7 for nine points for Hudson Valley.

The women's basketball team is back home this Saturday, Feb. 3 as they welcome Schenectady at 12 p.m. The Vikings defeated Schenectady 55-50 on the road in their first meeting this year on Nov. 19.
